A sealed barrier over the soil and a small fan keep soil gas under the house instead of in it.

In a crawl space the soil is open to the air under the house, so radon can rise straight into the rooms above. The fix is to cover the soil with a heavy plastic barrier and pull air from under it.
We seal the barrier to the walls and piers, set a pipe under it and add a fan that vents the air outside. The result also helps keep the crawl space drier.

Heavy plastic over the soil, overlapped and sealed.
A pipe under the barrier that carries soil gas out.
A quiet fan and a vent above the roofline.
Gaps closed and a follow-up test.
Yes, bare soil is where the gas comes from, so we cover all of it.
A sealed barrier cuts moisture coming up from the soil, which is a good side effect.
